You are living inside the imagination of someone else today. If you use an iPhone, you are living inside the imagination of Steve Jobs. If you have flown on a plane, you are living inside the imagination of Orville and Wilbur Wright. There are realities we are experiencing now, that were once only ideas inside the mind of someone else.

Is anyone living inside your imagination? You may have had the idea for an event, a program, or community. You could see the good that would happen in your mind. You could see the change that would take place in people’s lives. You wanted to make it happen, and it did. What was once only something you imagined, became reality.

George Bernard Shaw said, “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.”

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” I think what George Bernard Shaw said aligns with how God works through us. Hope is like a blueprint, the drawing of what could be. Faith is the raw material. Now, a bunch of lumber, steel, and drywall sitting on a lot, isn’t what the blueprint anticipated, but it’s evidence of it. It takes people to go to work upon those raw materials to bring the blueprint to reality.

That’s what Hebrews 11 depicts. It tells stories of people who went to work on the raw material of faith.

What are you hoping to see take place? What change could happen and good result from what’s in your imagination? Can you muster the raw material to get people to work?
